“Pro-Soil Ag is a product that I’ve been using for 14 years. We have found that we hit certain yield barriers that we couldn’t seem to break. We knew that we had to look at something to help the soil be more productive, and so this product was one of those that came along that did this. It gives you that other yield boost of maybe 25% overall in the yield increase and in this day and age we need to extract all the dollars that we can from our land. Because of other things, the cost that we don’t have any control on and this is something that we can enhance our income.
I happened to be lucky enough to use it 14 years ago. I’ve had a lot of experience with it, and so I’ve used it on the entire farm, and it has changed the whole structure of the soil, made it more productive and this promotes what we’d say earthworm activity and we know that the organic people they love earthworms and earthworms actually make that soil porous. It makes it good for water penetration and so that helps in itself.
The earthworm passing the soil through its body helps enhance it by a certain amount of fertilizer that it emits from the extractions of it. Also, it makes it beneficial in tillage operations and all makes it more porous, allows the water to penetrate it better and also it saves fuel from being able to pull the tillage tools through it a lot easier.
I was lucky about 14 years ago that I got in on the ground floor of using this, and so I’ve benefited for the last 14 years here on this farm using Pro-Soil.
Soybean has been what they call a step crop of the farming community because the seed companies didn’t enhance the yield and work with the seed quality there. They found that they reached the yield barrier really quickly and hadn’t been able to go above that and that was somewhere in the neighborhood of forty-five bushels to the acre.
This product has broken that barrier and now we have seen some hundred-bushel per acre soybean crop due only to this product. Pro-Soil is always trying to take their products and increase in other products that go along with the same chemistry and they’re doing this through foliar feeding and foliar feeding is the one way to feed a soybean. You can’t feed it through the normal fertilizer program. They’ve enhanced it through the trace elements, and there’s some products out there that they’re recommending to use with their product. We’re getting another twenty-five to thirty percent increase in yield. Our research there is basically trial and error because trial and error is really the best research. They are working with that, and so they work really close with the farmer on a one-on-one basis. They’ve got a really good network of dealers who go out in the field and try to really help and explain these problems to the farmer itself. Farmers really appreciate this.”
